What does it look like?
Start fading the appearance of dark spots within days: this advanced serum begins to diminish the appearance of uneven pigmentation fast, and keeps working to even skin tone over time.
What does our day-to-day environment have to do with dark spots?
Almost everything, actually.
Sun exposure is the ultimate trigger for melanin production and is the leading cause of uneven skin pigmentation. Additionally, recent research suggests a strong link between airborne pollution and dark spots: particles become lodged in the skin’s deeper structure and oxidize the surrounding tissue, leading to free radical damage and uneven pigmentation.
Did you know that dark spots can make you look older? Up to 20 years older!!!
The sun, the pollution will always be around us. And for those of us who have to deal with pigmentation, spots we've been forced to choose between using harsh chemicals to address dark spots, or continue to cover them up on a daily basis. Until Now.... PowerBright is the solution. Using the best of science and nature to deliver immediate, visible results and prevent future skin damage, PowerBright Dark Spot Serum evens the appearance of uneven pigmentation fast, and fades dark spots over time.
what causes dark spots?
Though melanin naturally protects our cells, the skin occasionally overproduces melanin. This overproduction of melanin is what causes dark spots, also known as hyperpigmentation. Here are some of the top dark spot triggers:
UV rays
Unprotected sun exposure is the best- known trigger for melanin production (think about the tan you get from a
day at the beach). It’s also the leading cause of dark spots; much of the hyperpigmentation we treat is the result of sun exposure. Fortunately, UV-induced hyperpigmentation is considered to be the easiest type to treat.
pollution
Airborne particulate matter (PM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can both become lodged in skin’s deeper structure. This oxidizes the surrounding tissue – leading to free radical damage and triggering an inflammatory response that results in hyperpigmentation.
free radicals
Collectively known as Reactive
Oxygen Species (ROS), free radicals are oxygen-derived molecules with unpaired electrons, which makes them highly reactive and able to damage macromolecules such as lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. The free radicals produced by keratinocytes can overstimulate melanocytes, resulting in hyperpigmentation.
hormones
During pregnancy, we often see melasma, also known as chloasma
or “the mask of pregnancy,” on the face. This can be either temporary
or permanent, and is caused by hormone shifts during pregnancy. Even medications such as birth control can induce hormonal dark spots.
inflammation
Any trauma to the skin, whether
it’s a wound, breakout, or even the result of a medical procedure such as resurfacing or laser hair removal, can cause melanocytes to be damaged over overstimulated, resulting in post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Darker skin types are particularly susceptible to this type of hyperpigmentation.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
• Light-diffusing technology using TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) and a film-forming
polymer begins to balance the appearance of uneven pigmentation within days.
• Niacinamide and Hexylresorcinol help fade dark spots, for brighter, more even-toned skin.
BENEFITS:
Did you know that spending just 30 minutes unprotected in the sun can UNDO a month’s worth of effort in fighting hyperpigmentation?! 🙅🏽♀️🙅🙅🏻♂️
NEW #PowerBrightDarkSpotSerum is clinically proven to fade and reduce the amount of dark spots on skin. Make sure you’re always pairing it with an SPF to see maximum results!
This is launching today! You will also receive a travel size powerbright and various samples. This is limited so place your orders before we run out!

While most have us have been working from home during the pandemic. Our skincare habits haven't been the greatest. When was the last time you gave your skin a really, really good look? You want to look your best while on those zoom calls.
Even while were outside, especially now more than ever while we are covering our faces with masks while our necks are exposed.
Introducing Neck Fit Serum, a firming serum that is a skin care workout for your neck and décolleté.
KEY BENEFITS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Neck Fit Contour Serum?
It’s a lightweight, roll-on serum for the neck and décolleté that immediately tightens skin, and tones it over time, for a more visibly lifted and sculpted appearance.
What makes it special? This serum contains high-performance Flex Lift Contour Technology, which acts like invisible mesh to provide a visible lifting and tightening effect on skin. It also smoothes fine lines and helps protect skin against pollution, which can lead to premature signs of skin aging.
Why is a separate product needed for the neck? No matter how healthy your face looks, your neckline can tell a different story. That’s because neck skin is thin, delicate, and more vulnerable to sun damage, photosensitization from fragrances, and the wrinkle-deepening motion of looking down at your devices.
It also loses strength and flexibility with age while neck muscles weaken underneath. These factors can exacerbate the appearance of lines, creases and sagging.
Check out the video down below.

]]>Buh - Bye 2020 !!!!
What a year it was. We all faced a global pandemic that changed our lives forever both personally and professionally. It didn't care if you were rich or poor, white or black, young or old. Healthy or sick. It reached each and everyone of us. It tested our health, our wealth, our mindset, our spirit, our friendships, our families, our resilience, our strengths, our weaknesses, our relationships, our bodies, our mental health.
And just like that..... our entire worlds were turned upside down.
We experienced loss and sorrow, and learned new skills, we had to adapt in ways we didn't think we could. For most of us it made us look deep down inside and fight the good fight. Stay strong they said, be brave they said, stay inside they said, stay safe they said, social distance they said, wear a mask they said, sanitize they said, wash your hands they said, pray they said, it will be ok they said. We are all in this together they said.
With that said.... 2021 is a brand New Year and most of us are hopeful that it will be better, it has to be better. So our goal for 2021 should be just that, a better year than last. While the past year was pretty bad. I call it as I see it. It was a very, very shitty year.
So it's time to Reset...... Let's get off to a good start 2021
I don't believe in resolutions because most of us well.... we are all eager beavers in the beginning! Here are some of the most common resolutions I hear.
I'm going to join a gym, I'm going to go on a diet, I'm going to quit drinking, I'm going to quit smoking, I'm going to exercise more, I'm going to spend save all my money, I'm going to be so organized.
Most of us demand too much of ourselves and come February we are back to where we started. Most of us got lazy, defeated and just gave up.
Instead set goals for yourself, and hold yourself accountable till you do. Make them attainable. Don't say by February i want to lost 30 pounds. It's just not realistic. Set realistic goals that you CAN achieve.
TOP 10 GOALS FOR 2021
1. INVEST IN YOUR HEALTH
Book doctors, dentist, eye doctor, chiropractor, naturopath etc .... Especially in the last year most of us let our health slide. Dr's appointments were hard to make, dentist offices were shut down. It's so important to be healthy especially right now in times like these. You need to make sure your body is whole, healthy and full of energy, physically and mentally.
2. DAILY EXERCISE
Whether that means stepping out for a walk, working out, going for a run. Whatever fits in your lifestyle or schedule. 20-30 minutes a day to get your body moving. Most of us are still working from home and forgetting to get up and stretch. So movement and getting some oxygen flowing is super important. Drink lots of water! And get yourself some cute clothes you want to exercise in like these.... everyday grateful tank | best things in life sweatshirt | everyday grateful sweatshirt
3. EAT HEALTHIER
For sure! After all those holiday sweets, it's time to re boot your body's insides. And get them nice and clean. You clean your car, your home, your clothes now its time to clean that body! Incorporate healthier food choices into your weekly meals. With that being said, meal planning is super important. Otherwise by the time you're done work, you're tired and don't want to take the time to make something that requires a lot of work so you take the easy way out and pop in that frozen lasagna, pizza and microwavable dinners. With a bit of planning and willingness to try something new you will be amazed how easy it really is. Check out my White Chicken Chili Recipe using an instant pot for your meals.Just set it and forget it. It can't get easier than that. And don't forget to hydrate throughout the day with lots of H20. Check out S'well Water bottles. They keep your water cold for 24 hours or hot drinks for 12 hrs.
4. ESTABLISH A ROUTINE
This will make your life so much easier, trust me. Waking up and going to bed roughly at the same time is going to help with your productivity. Even just waking up 15 minutes earlier makes a world of difference. You can take the time to put on a face mask, throw in a load of laundry. Make a proper breakfast, go for a quick jog. Everyones routine will differ based on your home and work life. Some of us have kids, we have to get them to school, others have to drive to work, some work from home. If you have a set routine you will get your tasks done on time and checked off your list.
5. TO DO LISTS....
Write it down. I don't care where you write it, whether it's on your phone, paper or your computer. You will hold yourself accountable. It feels amazing crossing off all those things one by one. Give yourself a few things to do daily so you're not struggling to accomplish them all at once. File away all those bills. The lightbulb that you keep saying you want to change, empty the freezer or clean out the hall closet that never get done.
6. CLEAN
Give yourself 20-30 minutes a day. This will make your home life less stressful. Why would you want to spend the entire weekend cleaning the house? I usually set my phone on a timer and go from room to room picking up, and when that buzzer goes off voila! done. I throw in laundry, clear up the mail, do the dishes, hang up the clothes that ended up on the chair. You can get so many annoying chores done. Honestly it's so nice on the weekends, i don't feel like I'm drowning in cleaning. And I feel like I get a weekend to relax.
7. GET DRESSED EVERYDAY!
Invest in yourself!!!!
Don't be a slob. The same top you wore to bed shouldn't be seen on your morning zoom call! We all know that Athleisure wear is the NEW office wear of choice these days. But honestly you will feel so good putting on that silky-blouse, some lipstick, try a new sleek ponytail or throw a hairband on for a new look that's fresh and fun. While you're at it paint your nails (since the salons are closed) home manicures, why not add that in your weekly routine. Some of our favorites are from smith&cult. Every Sunday night, set the mood..... light that beautiful candle, our favorite is from Damselfy JUST BREATHE so appropriate don't you think? Treat yourself to a nice bubble bath, or longer shower, throw in a hair mask, face mask, exfoliate your skin. Use that jade/rose quartz roller that you got and threw in the back of your drawer. Add a serum like Vitamic C or phyto-oil to your skin after you've washed, exfoliated and masked. Use eye cream so you don't look so tired during those live meetings. Our favorite skin care are from Dermalogica. Contact us to discuss your skin care needs at INFO@ALLDOLLEDUPBAR
Winter's dry air takes a toll on our skin. So adding that extra bit of moisture is necessary.
8. BOOKS, MUSIC, MOVIES
Read, read, read! Set a goal for yourself. Read 5 books this year! Try reading something that interests you or something that may motivate you or heck something that will take your mind off everything that is going on right now. I'm reading my dark Vanessa, and Caste and I keep a list of others that I want to read that friends, family have suggested so when I feel like reading I have something to go back to and I'm not having to search for it. It's handy and I can refer to it.
Play Music, when you wake up, when you're having dinner and when you want to wind down. Music has the power to touch our spirits our soul and our hearts.
Watch a Movie or a Series. Subscribe to Netflix, Prime Video, Crave, Apple Tv, Disney. They all offer something for everyone. And the best thing is you can watch it at your convenience. When you want, where you want. Sometimes there is too many choices. I created a list of movies, and shows that friends and family have recommended and i tick them off when I'm done. ( There's that list again) ahhh feel so accomplished when i tick it off. Right now we are watching Your Honour ( HBO), Death to 2020 ( NETFLIX) and Ray Donovan ( SHOWTIME)
9. HAVE DAILY GRATITUDE
Control the things we can, and accept the things we can't. It's easy to feel sorry for ourselves. We all have lessons to learn, things we want to achieve in life. But we need to be grateful for the blessings we do have and to give ourselves a pat on the back for our accomplishments that we've done thus far. Journaling is a fantastic way to write down your thoughts, your goals, your manifestations. Take the time to also have a work life balance. Enjoy the time you have with friends and family ( for most of it's its been really tough and trying, through the pandemic not seeing them face to face) but Face time, zoom, Skype and the good old fashioned phone call is super healthy and an important reminder to stay in touch and keep in touch and check in on those that mean so much to us. Especially in times like this.
10. CHANGE YOUR MINDSET
If you think you can't then you won't. Give yourself credit. You are stronger, smarter and more resilient than you think. You just need to focus, put a plan in place and hold yourself accountable. And learn to let go and shut down. Remember don't sweat the small stuff? we all need to do that. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that. There are so many other things that we can complain about that are actually worth complaining about. And we need to all learn to shut down. That means our devices. We are all so addicted to our phones, whether it's facebook, instagram, emails, gaming, or tik tok. We need to all be more present with the people that we are with. You need to create those memories that will last for years to come with the people you love. These are the things we will all remember and take with us. Life is too short to hate, to be sad, to be mad, to be angry. Live your life with positivity and gratitude and accept the things you can change and the things you can't.
Sometimes we're tested.
Not to show our weaknesses, but to discover our strengths.
2021 is a blank canvas. Create great things with it.

]]>What about your beauty blender?
How about your other tools like your eyelash curler?
As a skin care therapist, one of the biggest skin care concerns I get is about breakouts. The first thing I ask clients is about their home skin care routine. If they wear makeup, how often and when the last time they cleaned their brushes, tools and sponges.
Guess what? The most common answer is "I can't remember".
As a professional skin care therapist I have to be honest. You can clean your face all you want but if you're going to apply your makeup with dirty brushes and sponges, which by the way harbour a ton of bacteria and mold. You're just asking to wreak havoc on your skin. Plugged pores, oily skin, breakouts, acne can all be due to using dirty and unsanitary tools.
I want you to have the best skin possible. To do that we need to start with the basics.
Let's get started.
Gather everything you use to apply makeup on your skin. Your brushes, sponges, and tools like eyelash curler.
You will need a couple of bowls, clean towels and any of the following.
1. Mild, gentle liquid soap or Baby shampoo
2. Brush and blender liquid cleansing soap
3. Solid brush cleanser
Here I've used all 3 just to show you the difference. All do the same thing some may work a little better and some are just more convenient than others.
For my larger brushes I just used a mild liquid soap. Rinse your brushes first in warm water to get a lot of the product off. I just used my container that I store my brushes in and filled it with some mild method soap and warm water.
Make sure to add brushes only to where the bristles meet the handle. Super important not to fill past where the brush tip is glued. If you soak your brushes past this point, over time they will damage your brushes as the glue loosens and your brushes will fall apart. You may have to soak your brushes for a bit depending on how dirty they are.
Look how dirty this water was.....
Keep using clean water and more soap every so often till water runs clear.
For my smaller brushes I used my gentle coconut cleansing balm. It is a solid brush cleanser. I love this for when I'm travelling. Wet your brush and swirl into the balm. Rinse, re shape brushes and lay flat to dry.
Rinse, re shape brushes and lay flat to dry.
For my beauty blenders, sponges. I use a liquid soap made specifically for these. Wet your beauty blender/sponge and distribute cleanser over sponge. Lightly squeeze and work into a lather for stubborn stains I poured a small amount into container and let them soak.
Rinse. Lather. Repeat until sponges come clean. Squeeze out water and let them air dry on a clean towel. Look how clean these got.
You should be cleaning your brushes, sponges and tools after each use but I know that most people can't be bothered so if you can at least do it weekly it's a step in the right direction. And a step to great skin.
When was the last time you cleaned these tools? I bet some people have never cleaned these ever.
Wash those brushes and tools and see what a difference it makes onto your skin. Your skin will breathe better and honestly your makeup will apply better. Now go and clean the brushes dolls!!!!!

]]>Working from home is hard enough. Working in an unorganized, cluttered environment is awful. You don’t feel motivated and you're not as productive as you should be. Here are a few tips to help get your office space and yourself ready for spring.
1. First and foremost you need a SPACE to work in or at. Whether it’s a separate room or a nook in your home. It needs to be a quiet area, away from the noise of the kids and anyone else in your home. Remember you're probably going to be in teleconference meetings, you don’t want your boss seeing the kids running up saying “mommy I’m finished in the bathroom, can you wipe my butt” lol.....
In saying this, make sure you get up and get dressed everyday as if you’re going to the office. You don’t want to be on zoom and your co workers and boss staring at your hair that you haven't washed in a week and your sweats covered in last nights spaghetti sauce stain. You will feel refreshed, clean and ready to conquer the world. Put on some lipgloss, do your makeup and hair. Daily habits and routines are the fundamentals of life.
2. The actual space you're working in needs to have a comfortable desk and chair that you can work on. You will be working there for the duration of the day so make sure it’s a chair that’s good for your posture. Add a cushion for your back. Have good lightning. Bad lightning and working on a screen all day is a recipe for a headache. Open up the blinds and get that vitamin D. Make sure to look away from your screen every so often. Grab a pair of blue light glasses while working at your screen to prevent tired eyes and eye strain. Sometimes your office may be in a basement where it's cooler, stay warm and cozy and organized with this STORAGE BASKET and fill it with a blanket and cushions like these I'M NOT A MORNING PERSON, WAKE UP AND BE AWESOME.
3. Use your air pods or a good set of headphones so the kids know you're working and while you're at it put a sign on the door that saids “WORKING” or “IN A MEETING”. No interruptions......
4. Set yourself work hours including breaks and lunch. When working from home you tend to forget what time it is and sometimes even forget to eat throughout the day. So make sure to schedule that in. Eat snacks rich in high protein and high fibre like protein bars, almonds or make your own protein balls. Make sure to have lunch and stay hydrated throughout the day
5. Get some fresh air at lunch, working from home can be daunting. Step outside for a few minutes, grab a coffee or an ice water and breathe that air in. Do a couple of stretches. Sitting down all day isn't great for your posture or your health, you need to get a bit of exercise so do some stretches while you're taking your break. Set a timer if you forget. It will remind you to take a few minutes to get up and stretch.
6. Organize your space. Clear your desk of any clutter. Have a TO DO and DONE section for files. Set up your laptop and any other equipment ie. printer, headphones, planner, calendar, pens. Whatever tools you need make sure you have them. You don’t want to be running around the house trying to find a pen or printer ink. Use this BAG to organize pens or little things and add your lipgloss and HAND CREAM. You don't want to get distracted looking for these things. Having them right beside you so when you need them they are right there . Add this tray YOU GOT THIS to motivate you. And these adorable MAGNETS to your bulletin board to keep your daily reminders and notes.
7. Make your office pretty. If it looks inviting you will want to be in there and not make excuses as to why you can't work there. Add some plants. Add some cute desk accessories. Make it fun and not so stuffy. Here are some cool desk signs that will give you a giggle. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CRAZY or I DON'T LIKE THINGS THAT ARE STRESSY. Check out our entire collection online.
Put some artwork up like this NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU FEEL and this I'VE NEVER BEEN A MILLIONAIRE or AMAZING THINGS WILL HAPPEN
8. Make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day. You can use a traditional coffee/tea cup like this fun one I REALLY NEED A DAY. Or to keep your drinks hot or cold, I swear by any of the S’well bottles. Keeps your water cold for 24 hours and your hot drinks hot for 12. Here are a few of my favorite S'well bottles but tons more available on our website. S'well Traveller for hot drinks and for water or cold drinks S'well bottle.
9. Use a diffuser in the room, it will make the air quality that much better. If you don’t have one just grab a bowl fill it with water and add some essential oil.
10. The night before. Write down everything that needs to get done for the next day. Stay focused on your daily tasks. If you don’t write it all down, you will forget what needs to get done. Once it's done, check it off. You will feel like you’ve accomplished what needed to be done.
Hope you enjoyed these tips.

Spring nails are featuring fun designs and fun trends like not you're traditional french manicure. Here's my take on the french manicure with a twist.
Even if you don’t get manicures on a regular basis you should try to get a professional manicure done to maintain the health of your nails. Your hands tell a lot about you and it’s so important to keep them in great shape. We always seem to forget about our nails yet they help us do everything.
Today I will show you how easy it is to do nail art at home. You don’t have to be an artist but you do have to have a steady hand!
FOLLOW BELOW FOR EASY NAIL ART
1. Soak your nails in warm soapy water.
2. Trim and file your nails in a slightly rounded shape.
3. Push back your cuticles gently using a cuticle pusher. Be gentle you don’t want to damage this area as it is sensitive. Do not cut your cuticles! This can cause infections and bacteria. Leave it up to the professionals to trim away dead skin. Cutting your cuticles is not good practice and can cause your cuticles to harden and get thicker. This is why professional manicures are necessary….
4. Buff your nails if you have any bumps or ridges. Use the light side of a nail buffer and be gentle. Wipe away any dust with non-acetone before you polish.
5. Massage your hands with a hand cream I love Tocca’s hand cream. It really moisturizes and makes your hands not only look great they smell delicious.
6. Apply a base coat. If your nails have a lot of ridges use a ridge filler to smooth them out. Base coat is just as important as a topcoat as it primes your nails and prevents any staining from dark colored polishes.
7. Pick 2 colors of nail polish. A neutral color. I chose Opi's Infinite Shine in bubble bath and a glitter one like Smith&Cult's Teen Cage Riot.
8. Apply neutral color once your base coat has dried
9. Take your tip color polish and carefully apply a thin line from left to right at the edge of your nails. Shown here...
10. Once all the fingers are done. Don't forget to apply a topcoat for shine and long lasting wear.
11. Voila a twist on the French mani. Now show off those nails!
Check out one of our YouTube tutorials on a Glitter French Manicure.
Nail art isn’t going anywhere. If anything it’s just going to keep growing. Let fashion inspire you with all the different colors, textures and patterns out there the options are endless.
Life’s too short for boring nails. Do something fun with your nails. I hope you enjoyed this post.

I grew up eating fresh bread made from scratch. My mom still bakes bread every week or two. She makes about 8-10 loaves at a time. She gives some to family and friends and freezes the rest. Her youngest brother also owned one of the largest bakeries in the city and they supplied restaurants all over with bread and baked goods. I think baking just came natural to me. It’s definitely in my DNA.
I find it so relaxing and therapeutic. My husband loves foccacia, a large Italian style flatbread that’s thin and filled with pockets of delicious olive oil and cracked black pepper, sea salt, spices and herbs. You can also make it with tomatoes or thinly sliced potatoes as well.
Now I cannot compete with my mother in laws foccacia. I don’t know what it is, even when you take your mom/dads recipe and try to copy it exactly, for some reason it just never tastes the same!
I’m not one to give up though!!! So here is one from our family we hope you love it as much as we do.
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Grab a large mixing bowl and coat it with some olive oil. Your going to let your dough rise in this so make sure that it’s big enough. Set aside.
In your Mixer using your dough hook. Place your dry ingredients including package of yeast in the bowl and mix to combine.
Add your warm water(milk combo) and 1/2 cup of the olive oil and turn speed to medium. You will see dough start to mix and come together. Slowly keep increasing the speed till the dough mixes together more and more and starts to pull away from the bowl and forms a ball. This takes approx 5 minutes.
When ready, shape that mixture into a round ball. Place the ball into your greased bowl and using that olive oil make sure the entire ball is covered. Place a piece of plastic wrap over it and I also like to cover it with a damp tea towel as well. If your home is cold or has any draft it will not rise properly. Place it in your oven and allow it to rise for an hour.
While you're waiting sing in Italian and have a glass of vino while you wait for your bread. Grease a large rectangular cookie sheet with either olive oil or margarine, butter. This will get your dough nice and crispy on the bottom.
When you see that your dough has risen double in size (approx 1 hr maybe a little more).
On a clean surface punch down your dough a bit to help release the air and place that dough onto your cookie sheet and stretch it out gently using your hands. Cover it up again with plastic wrap for another 15 -20 min or so. It will continue to rise. At this point you will push it gently with your fingers to the edges of your sheet pan.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Take your remaining olive oil and drizzle it all over your dough evenly. Make sure it’s nice and covered. You can also use a brush to apply the oil, careful not to tear your dough.
Now using your fingertips punch little holes all over your dough. This allows little pockets to form and the olive oil will seep into those little pockets.
Add your salt, pepper, garlic powder and rosemary evenly distribute it all over.
If it needs more olive oil you can add a touch more.
For perfect foccacia you need to keep an eye on it. No two ovens are alike.
Bake it on the bottom rack for 20 minutes. Check underneath your dough and see the color. Is it still light or too dark? If it’s too light give it another 5 minutes. If its burning then put to middle rack to get golden for another 10 minutes.
Usually I bake mine on the bottom rack for 20 minutes and then the last 10 minutes I put on the middle rack to get nice and golden on top.
Once done take it out and drizzle a wee bit more olive oil and salt or you can put some Parmesan. Cut them up into pieces and eat it straight out of the oven cause it’s delicious when it’s nice and warm....
Make this for a snack or as a side dish to any of your meals. There is nothing in this world like fresh bread.
Hope you guys enjoyed this one! And a big thank you to my mother in law for her delicious foccacia. I can never get it like yours but it’s a close second :)
And a big thank you to my mama for showing me the love of bread.
XOXO, MARIE
]]>So if you love Mexican food like us. You’ll love easy recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
MEAT MIXTURE
1 Lb of Ground Turkey, Chicken or Beef
1 Package of Taco Seasoning Mix or 3 Tbsp of Mexican Seasoning
1 Tsp Mexican oregano
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tsp Smoked Paprika
1/4 Tsp Pepper
1/2 Onion Chopped
Hot Sauce
3/4-1 Cup of Water or Broth of any kind
BEAN MIXTURE
1 Can of black beans
1/2 Onion, chopped
1/2 Red pepper, diced
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Pepper
1 Cup of Broth
1 Can Green Chilis
1/2 Tsp Smoked paprika
1/2 Tsp Garlic powder
1/2 Tsp Mexican Oregano
Chipotle Hot Sauce, to taste
RICE
2 Cups of Rice ( cook according to directions)
You can use any kind, here I used basmati but jasmine or brown or white rice is great too.
1/2 lime and zest
Cilantro
TOPPINGS
Fresh diced tomatoes
Peppers, red or green
Green onions, sliced thin
White onion, diced
Lettuce or spinach, shredded
Crushed Taco shells or Tortilla Chips
Sour cream
Shredded Cheese
Guacamole or Avocado
DIRECTIONS:
Using a large skillet, on medium heat, heat up oil in the pan and add your meat, cook until done. Add your onions and cook until translucent. Now add all your spices except taco seasoning and mix till combined. Add your Taco seasoning and your water or broth. Turn heat to high until mixture is boiling. Then turn it back to med-low until water is reduced 3-4 minutes.
Take meat mixture and put aside in a bowl.
Now start cooking your rice according to directions. I have a rice cooker so I don’t have to worry about watching and stirring. When rice is done cooking. I add lime juice and lime zest.
For the bean mixture.
In same skillet fry onion in a little bit more oil until translucent and add red peppers. Cook for a few minutes. Add green chilis and all spices. Keep cooking on medium heat for a few minutes to get the spices toasted. Now add your black beans (make sure you’ve strained them). Add the broth and cook till slightly mushy 5 minutes. Now add your hot sauce, give it a taste. Put as little or as much as you like.
This is the best part. Putting it all together.
Grab some bowls.
Add your rice, some beans and your meat mixture. Layer it anyway you want. Just give an equal amount of each. Add your all your toppings. Add your sour cream, more hot sauce, splash of lime and cilantro for garnish.
It seems like a ton of work and ingredients but it’s really not because your repeating the spices in both mixtures. This took me 30 minutes to make and easy clean up.
Let me know how you enjoyed this dish.
XOXO, MARIE
]]>One of the most famous cookies out there, from one of the most delicious bakeries in the world “Levain Bakery” in NYC.
I tried to recreate the recipe with a few tweaks here and there. But you can absolutely make some changes as I did. I didn’t have chocolate chips on hand for example I had chocolate chunks. And I’m not a huge fan of walnuts so I substituted pecans instead.
Hope you guys love this recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Get your sheet pan ready with parchment paper or silicon baking mat.
Get your ingredients all together.
Using a stand mixer with the paddle attachment cream the cold butter, until it comes together. Add your sugars, mix till incorporated a few minutes. Crack your eggs in a separate bowl and add those to the mix. Beat them in for a few minutes and add the vanilla. It will be a bit lumpy do not over mix. Slowly add your flours, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cornstarch. Super important step do set your speed on low and gradually work your way up to medium do not over mix here either or your will have a tough cookie dough. Now add your chips and nuts just till mixed through.
The consistency should look something like this.
This recipe makes 8-10 really large cookies or 24 small.
These cookies are meant to be big and I mean big!
I made 24 small because I wanted to give some to family and friends.
Make sure you spread them out on your cookie sheet.
Now roll the dough into uniformed balls whether you're doing giant ones or small you want them all roughly the same size and weight for even baking.
TIP: Freeze the balls onto a cookie sheet for 30 min before you bake them. You want to keep the butter that’s inside the cookie nice and cold. Keeps them from spreading out too much.
What I’ve learned is that everyone’s oven is different. You may have to play around with time and temperature. It’s better to undercook these cookies then overcook them which will result in a hard dense cookie. If that does happen, don’t worry.
Pop them in the microwave for 20 seconds before eating and they will be warm and gooey and delicious.
Bake for 15 - 17 minutes. Keep your eye on these cookies as you want the tops lightly browned.
Once done, take them out of the oven and place on a wire rack.
Sprinkle some flakey Maldon sea salt on top. Now that's heaven!
Let them cool at least 8 minutes before you take a bite!
Don’t forget it’s best to undercook these, as they cool they will keep baking.
Hope you enjoy these delicious cookies. I know we do!
Stay happy, safe and healthy.
XOXO, Marie

One easy and budget friendly way to change things up is by adding small decor pieces here and there.
Start by removing your things that you're not really loving anymore. For example that vase with the dried flowers that's been sitting in the corner of your living room for years. If it's a dust collector. Get rid of it.
Time to add a bit of fun and flair to your home. Wall art is a huge and inexpensive way to add some fun to all areas of your home.
For example this piece in a living room area, perhaps near a bar cart would be adorable.
Shop this piece here | Trust Me You Can Dance
Another great piece would be using a macrame wall hanging. Don't you remember your grandparents having these? Well not only are they back they are super trendy right now.
For a great feature wall. You can use them in groupings like this. It not only adds warmth to your space but adds an element of texture and visual scape to the eye.
You can also add one in an entryway by adding it next to pieces like this. Adding a mirror and using the woven basket give different textures, heights, shapes and elements.
By adding plants you're giving your space life and a lived in vibe. Mixing elements of nature is always a good thing.
You can shop these Macrame wall hangings below
Low on storage? Adding weaved baskets to your space also add dimension and is a great addition to hold your cozy knitted blankets or extra pillows. You can also add this to a bathroom to store you toilet paper or magazines. Or add a tall plant inside. I love how this seagrass one has pom poms and is multi colored which gives depth and a modern vibe.
Shop this here | Pom Pom Basket
I love these wall art pieces. I think they are a lovely addition to a dressing area or a walk in closet. Have a small space? Find a wall and create a look around it. By adding something that has a fun saying such as these you can place it near a clothing rack or open shelving where you keep your makeup or where you get dressed.

Or this one to inspire us to get up everyday and be the best we can be.

My favorite element in every room are candles. Not only do they add warmth and light but the scented can envelope your home with scents of nostalgia, romance and relaxation. My favorite candles are non toxic soy based ones. Other candles emit toxins that can harm our loved ones, pets and the environment.
These candles feature a double wick. A burn time of 60-80 hrs depending on the size. Are non toxic and made of soy and some of them have wooden tops which I think is the greatest invention ever. Not only does it keep the dust from getting on the candle but keeps your space looking neat and tidy. These candles are modern and feature fun quotes like this.
Shop this here | Good Vibes Only
Or this one would be perfect on a dressing table, area where you do yoga or meditate or by your bathtub for those long nights where you just want to relax and chill.
Shop here | Just Breathe
I hope this inspires you to add some fun new pieces into your home. Little details can add so much love and joy to a home. Mixing textures and shapes along with scents can really add dimension. And lastly make use of all of our fives senses. Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and Touch when decorating in your home.
Having things around you that you love to look at and inspire you like wall art. The sound of music playing in the background. Having a gorgeous candle lit and the scent enveloping the room. Making dishes that inspire you to want to cook more. And having different textures like a wall hanging or a blanket that you want to cuddle up in.
Little things can make a world of difference in how you see your home and how others see it too.
Hope you enjoyed this blog post let me know need any ideas decorating or what you would like to see next.

You guys!!! This taco bowl is so fresh and yummy your going to make it again and again! Feel free to put all the ingredients in a bowl or in a taco. Either way your going to love it!
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
First get your rice going... I use our instant pot or you can use a rice cooker. Or cook it on the stovetop... Just read the directions for jasmine rice depending on how your cooking it.
Heat up a pan on medium heat with a few drizzles of vegetable oil... Brown your turkey. Once browned add your garlic and cook for a few minutes... Add the chili powder and oregano cook it out a bit more. Add one cup of water... Turn heat to high until it boils then back down to simmer... Add your can of corn just to heat it through.
Take cilantro, green onions and lime zest and divide them in half
Take your tomatoes, avocado, half of cilantro and green onions and put them in a bowl and mix lightly... Now add a splash of lime juice.
Once your rice is cooked take the rest of the cilantro, onions, half of lime zest and add to rice... Add another splash of lime juice.
In a small bowl take 6 or more tbsp source cream... I use full fat sour cream because I love the flavor but add a few splashes of water and that way you are using less sour cream (less fat for those of you concerned) add some lime zest and lime juice... Mix till it's fluid and runny.
Are you read for this deliciousness? Take a dinner bowl add rice to the bottom... As much or as little as you like... Add your ground turkey mixture... Add your tomato/avocado mixture and then dollop your source cream all over.
TIP: You can make your own chili seasoning by using a blend of chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, sea salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes. I do this by my eye and taste so I don't have exact measurements. It depends on how much your using in your recipe. Play around with it and see what you like.
I hope you guys loved this recipe. We make it at least once a week! Don't forget you can also use this filling and put it in hard taco shells or in tortillas.
Let me know if you guys love this one!

]]>Thanks INSTANT POT!!!
]]>Pot: Instant Pot | White Dinner Plate: Crate and Barrel | Bowl: Amazon | Black Dinner Plate: Amazon | Gold Cutlery: Amazon or here Crate and Barrel
This is honestly the fastest & easiest soup I've ever made -Thanks Instant Pot!
I made this soup a few times since I've written this recipe. Now to make it easier on ya'll, this is the quickest version for those pressed for time.
Hope you love it as much as we do!!!!
INGREDIENTS:
Toppings:
you can also add sliced avocado, crushed tortilla strips, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, jalapenos or more salsa on top of your soup !!!
Ever since I tried this magical thing called the INSTANTPOT I haven't stopped using it! My husband has now moved things around our kitchen so we can have it front and center. What is so great about this pot? We already own a slow cooker, pressure cooker, rice cooker/steamer, endless pots and pans and the list goes on..... It's the same thing as having an instant pot.
Wrong again kimosabi. The instant pot is having all of those great things all in one first of all. And It's fast! Crazy fast! If I had to make this in my slow cooker I totally could but this works with really high heat temp and I don't need a seperate pan to cook up the meat. For this recipe you can totally use a rotisserie chicken or fry up the chicken breasts in the instantpot. One pot, one mess. That's my jam. Who wants to sit there and clean a whole bunch of pots and pans? This girl ain't ruining her manicure ok?
Here is my take on this delicious soup.....
First......
You need an INSTANT POT
DIRECTIONS:
Turn on the saute function, heat up a few swirls of olive oil (about 3 tbsp) add your shredded rotisserie chicken. Now if you want to cook chicken breasts you would do it now. Cut up the chicken in small even pieces (this allows it to cook faster) once it's all cooked add your chopped onion, garlic, all your spices and cook until translucent. Add your can of green chiles, both salsas, cream cheese I only used 1/2 block but if you want it really rich use the full block of cream cheese. Add your beans. Cook until cream cheese has incorporated. Add your broth.
Turn on the soup function and adjust time for 20 minutes. I mean you can do this in 10 if you wanted to. I like the flavors to really blend together so I do 20 min.
When it's done, vent out the steam. Super important this takes 2-3 min. When it's done venting now you can add your milk. If you want to make it really thick and creamy use full cream. and your soup is all ready for you to eat!
Before you serve, add a dollop of chives or cilantro, a splash of lime juice to each bowl and whatever toppings you fancy.
Enjoy it with a light salad and some fresh charred bread.
Let me know what other recipes you would like to see done in the INSTANT POT

]]>Now I make my own dough but I also love the convenience of store bought dough. There is no judging here!!! For this recipe I’ve kept it simple using store bought dough. I buy ours from our local bakery. Bakery dough is just so much fresher I find and way more delicious.
For this pizza were doing a Mediterranean zucchini pizza. We're not vegetarian but we love trying new things and this pizza is really delicious. I tend to use what is in season cause its fresh and lovely and just so yummy!!!
MEDITERRANEAN ZUCCHINI PIZZA
Directions:
1. Take your store bought dough rub it with a little bit of olive oil so it’s not sticky. Place it in a bowl and cover with a clean dishtowel. Put in a warm place away from drafts. I just stick mine in the oven and let it rise for 30 minutes. ( do not turn your oven on)
2. Take your zucchini and thinly slice it into rounds or matchsticks. Keep the skin on. Put in a colander and sprinkle with salt. This allows the excess water from the zucchini to drain. This step is super important cause who wants a soggy pizza?
Fun Fact: did you know that zucchini is made up of over 90% of water?
3. Shred your entire ball of mozzarella and put aside.
4. Thinly slice your onion and finely chop your garlic. Chop your peppers thin. Fry up in a few tablespoons of olive oil until golden. Put aside.
5. Turn your oven on to 425 degrees.
6. Roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface. Punch it a few times and stretch it with your hands if you need help use a rolling pin. I do both. I stretch it with my hands and then use the rolling pin to help me get it into the shape that I want. If you find your dough is not rolling out well it needs to rest a little longer. Tip: stretch it out as much as you can onto your pan. Rub a bit more olive oil, turn your oven to keep warm setting and leave it in there for 10 min. and voila your dough will have risen more and you will be able to stretch it out.
7. When your dough is nice and ready add a tiny bit more olive oil you just want it coated lightly. Take 1 cup of smooth ricotta and add your chopped parsley to it. Add some salt and pepper. Now smooth it onto your dough you want your entire dough to have a nice thin layer of ricotta.
8. Next up take your mozzarella layer that on. I use about half at this point and half later.
9. Take your drained zucchini. Make sure you squeeze the heck out of it and wrap in dishtowel to dry it. Spread that evenly onto your pizza. Take your garlic, onions, peppers (if you added them) and layer that. Now add the rest of your mozzarella and add your Parmesan.
10. Crumble your feta and scatter that evenly on top. Take your chopped olives (if added) and add that as well.
11. At this point take your lemon, squeeze cut side up onto your pizza. The flavor of the lemon, and garlic and feta and caramelized onions is out of this world.
12. Sprinkle your chives; you can also use basil, green onions, and dill. Save a little to sprinkle fresh when it comes out of the oven.
13. Place in a preheated oven of 425 and bake for 10 min. Turn pan and bake for another 5 min and see how it looks underneath. If still not golden brown under bake for another 3-5 min watching carefully.
14. Take out of oven and let it rest a few min and slice it up!!!! Now squeeze a tiny bit more lemon. Add a nice sprinkling of sea salt and cracked black pepper and chili flakes…. Doll it up with more fresh herbs. If you love Parmesan sprinkle a bit more on top for extra yumminess!
I hope you love this pizza as much as we do. Since this pizza is vegetarian I make a huge spinach and arugula salad with grilled chicken and mango to go with it.
Stay tuned for salad recipe coming soon on the blog….

We're loving Dermalogica's UltraCalming Line...
Did you know that half the population has sensitive skin?
What causes sensitive skin?
"Why is this happening?"
It's one of the first things most people ask in their search for relief. The following can be triggered by any combination of the following factors.
*Lifestyle (stress, diet, smoking, dehydration, alcohol or cosmetic ingredients)
*Environment (pollution, airborne allergens, weather and temperature changes)
*Physiology (stress, hormonal fluctuations)
*Genetics (hereditary skin irritability) rosacea, psoriasis, eczema.
Sensitive skin various from mild to severe for some people. It can be the occasional flare up for some, and for others redness and discomfort all the time.
Sensitive vs. Sensitized Skin
Sensitive skin is a predisposition you're born with. Your skins protective protective outer layer is not as efficient at blocking irritants, allergens and making it more prone to reactions such as blushing and allergies. This can be managed with appropriate care.
Sensitized skin is irritability from lifestyle (stress, diet, smoking, dehydration, alcohol, cosmetic ingredients, peels, laser , excess exfoliation or non pH balanced products. And external factors such as (pollution, airborne allergens, weather, sudden changes in climate such as coming from cold dry winds outside to dry heat indoors. Avoiding these triggers can reduce and eliminate symptoms. When triggers can't be avoided ( pollution, environment, temperature sensitivity) symptoms can be managed through skin care and lifestyle changes.
Physiology ( stress, hormonal fluctuations, Disease (rosacea, eczema, psoriasis) and Genetics ( hereditary skin sensitivity) all play a role.
How do you know if you have signs of Sensitivity and Sensitization?
*Thin skin texture with translucent appearance
* Skin feels tight which can indicate dehydration and lead to skin reactions from products
*Redness or blotchiness. This signals over-reactive capillaries or a tendency towards rosacea.
*Visible redness, flaking or cracking on the cheeks and forehead. This indicates dehydrated skin and impaired barrier function.
*Blushing and itching, or burning sensations can also be a sign of over reactive capillaries.
*Small, rash-like bumps or breakouts, not to be confused with acne breakouts.
Research by The International Dermal Institute shows that by combining natural botanical extracts can help reduce symptoms of sensitive/sensitized skin without interrupting skin's natural healing process.
Dermalogica's NEW UltraCalming products combine the best of nature and science by using natural Oat Oil, Apple Fruit, Cactus Pear extracts and Aloe Vera to combat irritation and dehydrations. SKIN CARE TIPS:
Possible effects of common irritants include ( hot showers, baths, spicy foods, extreme temperatures, air travel, and current skin care products or cosmetics.
Pay attention to how your skin reacts to diet and stress.
Avoid washing your skin with hot water, as this strips the skin's barrier, use cool water.
The loss of existing sebum is commonly caused by excessive bathing, showering, scrubbing or the use of harsh soaps. Use a gentle cleanser like Ultra Calming Cleanser.
Be mindful of scented, coloured and fragranced laundry detergents and softeners they can aggravate skin.
Pollution, alcohol, smoking , medical resurfacing and over-exfoliation should be reduced.
Sun exposure can also irritate skin, use SPF daily!!!! Physical sunscreens with Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are less irritating to highly sensitive skin than chemical sunscreens.
Strong skin barrier is critical for healthy looking skin. Use a fortifying skin care regimen daily like Dermalogica's Ultra Calming Line.

Hello loves.....
Winter can be a challenging time of year in terms of knowing how to dress appropriately for the weather and look stylish at the same time.
I tend to dress in layers during our winters. I love my toques, scarves and of course a great leather jacket.
I styled this outfit when it was around -15 degrees and I felt warm and perfectly dressed for the weather. Layering pieces is the key to keeping warm. Here I layered a cropped turtleneck sweater, a cardigan and my moto leather jacket.
One of my favorite pieces in this look is this pom pom fur scarf. I love the color because it's neutral, it goes with everything. You can wear it casually like this or with a knitted dress and tall boots for a dressier look. Or as a shawl. It's super big. This was one of our shops favorites. They sold out so fast!!!!! But I will link below similar ones.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to accessorize, and my toques/hats are one of my fave ways to add style points to any look. This is an old one but I will link similar as well.
I love my sweaters. I have way too many but I just think they are so cozy and comfortable. You can find them in different knits and weights and styles. This one was short and had little holes so I added a cardigan on top. My leather jacket is a basic black moto style that goes with everything. You can dress it up or down. I wore dark grey denim jeans that I think should be a staple in every girls wardrobe because you can wear them all season long.
And I love these black converse leather kicks they go with everything and because they are lined inside they're perfect for fall through winter. ( I mean I wouldn't wear them if we had piles of snow) but on lighter snow days they are great.
Hope you enjoyed this style post and how you guys are keeping warm!!!!
Let me know other looks you want to see me style....

]]>January ain't called the blues for nothing.... It's a New Year. Let's count our blessings and be thankful for what we have. It's also a time of year where many of us reflect and start new goals in health and fitness. I also try to incorporate healthier eating habits because let's face it, we all over indulge a little during the holidays. This is our saving grace.
Here is a delicious recipe that you need to try!
Love pasta but hate all the calories? Try this fab low carb spaghetti squash pasta with yummy turkey meat sauce. Trust me you won't even miss the "pasta". A healthier alternative to a plate full of carbs. You will make this again and again.
Start to finish on the table in 45 minutes.
Serves 2 large or 4 small servings
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Take your spaghetti squash and cut it in half lengthwise (down the middle) you will end up with two halves. Gently remove all seeds and stringy parts. Generously apply olive oil to both cut ends. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Get a glass dish or baking dish that will fit the squash and place cut side down. I used a 9x13 glass dish. Add 1/2 cup of broth. This will help the cooking process and steam the squash.
Set your oven timer for 30 minutes. Once time is up, pierce through the shell of squash through to the bottom. If it doesn't pierce all the way through, add another 15 minutes cooking time or more depending on size of squash till cooked through.
*You will know when fork easily pierces through.
While this is cooking......
Preheat a pan to medium heat with some olive oil and add your onion and garlic and cook till translucent about 2 minutes.
Add your carrots and celery cook for another 5-6 minutes until tender.
Add your zucchini and your ground turkey, salt, pepper, oregano, and your chili flakes. Make sure the turkey is cooked through about 15-20 minutes before you add the ground tomatoes.
Add your tomato sauce turn heat to med-high and cook for 15 min. Stir often. Turn heat to med low and add rest of broth and your basil. Cook until broth has mostly evaporated. I usually let this cook on low until my squash is ready.
Once squash is fully cooked, remove from oven and carefully flip cut side up. With a fork gently scrape out flesh so the cooked squash looks like spaghetti strings. Make sure you get it all out!
Put in a strainer to drain any excess water.
Plate one half of the spaghetti squash in a big mound on plate. Sprinkle with parmesan. Add a generous amount of meat sauce. Add some more parmesan, some chopped basil and chili flakes if desired.
* Using this type of squash as a great alternative to "spaghetti" because when cooked it's flesh becomes stringy thus resembling spaghetti noodles.
Voila!
Hope you enjoyed this one!
Let me know what else other recipes you would like to see...
XOXO, Marie

Cape: Modern Cape Short Sleeve Sweater Skirt: Maje Hat: All dolled up bar | similar here C.C. Beanie Pants: old | similar here Citizens of Humanity Shoes: Splendid
Sweater weather has finally arrived. We're not ready for it, but happy for all the lovely fall/winter fashion it brings.
For days where our temperatures can be mild and cold all in one day like in Toronto. A great solution is a CAPE STYLE SWEATER. These are great for wearing on their on own or as a layering piece. When you purchase a cape sweater it's best to get one in a monochromatic color, that way it goes with everything so you can wear it more often and have it as a basic piece in your wardrobe.
Here i've styled it in two different colors in two different looks so you can see how versatile it is.
I hope you like this blog post. And let me know what else you guys would like to see featured in fashion and style.

Cardigan: Willow Cardigan Sweater | Top: Aritzia (old) similar style here: Asos and here Boohoo | Jeans: Free People similar style here : American Eagle | Boots: Jimmy Choo
Autumn is in the air.... I think about all the fun things like sipping on pumpkin spice lattes and going for long walks watching the leaves change into their glorious colors.
It's a fun time of year for all. So get out there and enjoy it!
I love the ease of pairing a long cardigan with tall boots. You just feel warm and comfy.
I always buy my long cardigan sweaters in basic colors that way i get more use out of them. Here I wore a long beige colored cardigan. You can wear it buttoned up or open like i did. I love that it hits past my knees and it has generous pockets.
I wore this with my free people skinny corduroy jeans tucked into my favorite camel colored boots from jimmy choo and a camel colored long sleeve v neck tee shirt.
This long sleeve cardigan is the perfect shade for fall weather. Don't forget you can wear it with dresses or denim or even on a warmer night with shorts.
Depending on where you live in the world the ease of a long cardigan is something you should definitely invest in.
What do you think of this cardigan?
